Client of The Day

Gorgeous babe,

Today as we celebrate jakarta 485th year of anniversary, my gorgeous client celebrated her teen daughter, Nisa, 12 th birthday earlier this month. Here is their look in the touch of my makeup. This time makeup challenge was Nisa's skin tone in dark brown tone plus somw break out on forehead area.
Thanks to Kryolan HD creamy foundation and Supracolor creamy foundation who makes my makeup job lot easier done. Their coverage is actually very good, medium to high coverage with matte look finish. Oh..not to forget to introduce you new members of my makeup gadget, Tom Ford contour kit. I super love the creamy yet not too oily texture for contouring. It suits any type of skin well and blends in well with any of your foundation.

Makeup enhances natural beauty within you.

Hello....Goodbye!

I've been on a search for facial mask for a week as I am running out of mask.
I use glamglow tingling and exfoliating mud mask at the moment. The ingredient contains of real mud (which texture is quite greasy) claimed to give instant firming and brightening effect. Yes it leaves my skin smoother and tighter but yet I feel my skin is more dry in some areas.
Many recommendation in website came up with Estee Lauder resilient mask so I went to dept store and stopped by at Estee Lauder counter but turns out the product I am looking for is not available in Indo. I looked around and lastly stopped by the Sisley counter. They recommend me Phyto Blanc Ultra Lightening Mask. It is enriched with natural plant extracts and essential oil, also fragrance-free. Without any doubt I finally made a purchase and the first trial of using this mask was like "urmm the smell is awful" haha. Apart from that, I feel the instant effect, my skin is more dewy, bright and moist. I think its synergetic combination of lemon extract, scullteria and white mulberry evens out the complexion.

Time to say HELLO Sisley and GOODBYE Glamglow!

My treasure : Chikuhodo brush

Treasure, that is what you are
Honey you are my golden star
You can make my wish come true
If you let me treasure you
(By Bruno Mars)

One of my treasures have finally arrived! It is Chikuhodo makeup brush from Japan. I have never bought makeup brushes brand from Japan but I heard this brand is popular in their origin and they manufacture the brushes by handmade, assuming all handmade is good quality. So here is my review on 3 brushes I bought:

1. G8 : powder brush
2. G11 : contour brush
3. G16 : cheek brush

Handle type : wooden handle.
Ferrule : gold coated.
Go to Chikuhodo brush website for further specification.

The hair is seriously fluffy (compare to my current Bobbi Brown and MAC brushes). Densely packed bristles make it easy to apply makeup without leaving any residue on the brushes, this is what I don't see in any other makeup brushes. I tried G16 (in pointed shape)
, it is super easy to apply on the cheek area and it helped me to create dramatic and strong color on the cheek yet less sheer look.
For G11, I called this brush multi-purpose brush with thick-dense bristles, since It can be used for contouring/shading, blush brush and blending and highlight. Lastly I agree that G8 powder brush is very good at its function to apply finishing powder thinly on top of your makeup.
Overall I am happy with these but well too bad the handle is too short as I already used to my Bobbi Brown brushes with longer handle which allows me to control more strokes when applying makeup. Next, I surely might wanna try other brushes from Chikuhodo brand.

Here are my golden star.
Chikuhodo brush (from top to bottom) : G16, G8, G11.
Engrave with my name on the handle

Beauty makeover/casual makeup

Girls,
How do you mostly spent your weekend with? This weekend a friend of mine came to my house and would like me to give her a simple yet stunning makeover since she was going to a wedding party. So I just simply put together all my beauty gadget and here's the result.

Step:
1. First cleanse the face and put on all the basic skin care. This step actually prepares your skin before makeup and gives skin a healthy look. She used Kiehls toner, moisturizer and on top of that I dab Miracle toner from SK2 and the Cellumination Essence, this will give her extra-glowing skin ;)
2. Face : HD MakeUpForEver (MUFE) primer, Bobbi Brown Illuminating Face Base, MUFE foundation, PAC creamy foundation, MUFE concealer palette, MUFE contour kit. I love MUFE primer best!!!
3. Eye makeup : Urban Decay Anti Aging primer. Eyeshadow : Naked 2 palette, Chanel "mystique", Dior "trianon".
•Under eyes : MUFE concealer pallette, Bobbi Brown concealer, YSL touche eclate pen.
•Eyelashes : Morisse and Arwani
4. Blush : Dior " Rosy Glow", YSL blush radiance, Etude blush on. Dior Rosy Glow never fails me, it gives soft pink tone yet fresh look on the apple of cheek.
5. Tools : Bobbi Brown brushes (eyeshadow, blush, foundation), MAC (blending, eyeshadow), Hakuhodo (fan brush).

xoxo,
Rachel

New in June 2014 : Marc Jacobs Shameless Bold Blush

No doubt that I am a big fan of blushes. About one month ago, I heard about Marc Jacobs beauty that has just launched in Singapore so I am curious about their products. During my stay in Bangkok I made my time to Sephora store and stop over at Marc Jacobs counter. Their range of blushes has captured my eyes at the very first time. So I came up with this "Obsessed" Shameless Bold Blush. The formula is creamy finish powder with pure unadulterated color. What I really like about this blush, it sculpts perfect contours yet gives natural-radiant look for the cheek. They have 9 shades and the package is included angled blush brush inside.

Here's my party makeup using Obsessed blush by Marc Jacob.
